DEDICATIUN B. B. BURLIN G Vice-Princiiml We, as representatives of the student body and faculty, earnestly unite to pay tribute to one man among us who deserves much esteem and recognition. Mr. B. B. Burling began his golden service to our school seventeen years ago, when he left Boys' Tech to be elevated to the position of Vice-Principal of Washington High School. Even before this, he was helping many would-be engineers to find the square upon the hypotenuse at James Millikan University and the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. In 1915 he helped to organize Washington High's electrical equipment. Realizing the importance of a good pension system, he served for many years as President of the Pension Board of the Milwaukee Public School Teachers-championing their cause. Thus we pay tribute to this worthy teacher and capable administrator. A friend in need is a friend indeed. How well this quotation applies to this quiet voiced man who has helped us solve so many of our problems. He has shown a personal interest in all students: each semester, after he had adjusted the schedule of classes, he would give of his time to re- arrange the program of each individual who was in need. He has been an understanding friend to whom all could come. Through his friendly counselling we have learned to face our personal problems and to exercise control in becoming masters of ourselves. Though these seventeen years have flown as swiftly as birds who seek their destina- tion, we are sure they have brought the joy of fulfillment to a rich life. So it is to you, Mr. Burling, that we dedicate this yearbook, and hope it conveys our heartiest appreciation and best wishes for future happiness to a great man in a great school.
