Under the guidance of Miss C. Hazel Handt and Mr. Wttlter Candy, the interesting programs consist of informative panels, spirited debates, varied musical selec- tions, and radio plays. Such topics as Should the Voting Age Be Lowered to Eighteen Years? and Should Congress Enact a Federal Sales Tax? were discussed. A mixer at the beginning of each semester welcoming new members and another at the end honoring fellow graduates were especially enjoyed by all Philomatheans. The variety of worthwhile programs and the true friendliness of the members have made each meeting a must in a Philo's three years at Wzishington.

F. joseph, Since the Lincoln Forensic Society has Hon- est Abe as its patron, the club strives to live up to its name. Under the capable direction of Miss Anna Porter and Mrs. Marion Kirby, its panels, debates, and humorous skits keep its members entertained and well informed. A special occa- sion, The Silver Anniversary, honored Miss Evelyn Purdy, advisor to the society for twenty- five years. Subjects important to any student of any age - The Causes and Remedies of Cheat- ing and The Problem of Race Segregation in Public Schools -presented lively discussions. Take-offs on recent T.V. panel shows and an old-fashioned melodrama provided humor. A panel of graduating seniors reviewed their ex- periences at Washington. Such varied programs combined much enjoyment and well-rounded knowledge of current events. President . . . I .rt Vice-Prefidefzt 2nd Vice-Prericiefzl 3rd Vice-President Secretary . . . Tremlfrer .
