Alphanea, which is directed by the Misses Mary Jane Ryan and M. Louise Schmidt, meets every other Wednesday. Includ- ed in the programs, all planned and presented by the members, are demonstrations, radio plays. choric speaking, various skits, and extempore speeches. Some interesting panel subjects were Parent-Teacher, Parent-Student Relations and What America Can Do about Juvenile Delin- quencyf' Valuable experience is gained from writing, directing, and participating in these various programs. Through their membership Alphs strive to develop good leadership, char- acter, and personality. The interesting programs and well-rounded entertainment tend to make Alphanea one of Washington's most popular organizations.
