Mr. Jerry Kopke has taught at Washington High School for a number of years. He is presently teaching Geometry, plane and solid. He played basketball in college and starred in the game. Mr. Kopke graduated with his B.S. degree. Mr. Morgan is presently teaching Algebra and Physical Education. This is his first year at Washington. He also teaches driving education. f kmggxltfl Mr. Robert Nolan teaches Algebra 1-2 at WHS. Mr. Nolan also teaches driving education. Mr. J. R. Willeford is presently teaching Algebra 1'2. This is his first year at WHS. 24 4 ACADEMICS Mr. Franklin Talyor teaches General Math. He is also in charge of the Photo class and sponsor of the Photo Club.

Mr. A. Joe Ausere sponsors the Spanish Club and teaches Spanish 3-4 and 7-8. He attended Arizona State University and Phoenix and the Universidad Nacional de Mexico, Mexico City. Mr. Ausere was a member of the Alpha Mu Gamma. This is his sixth year of teaching at WHS. Mrs. Betty Prosser teaches Latin 1-2 and 3-4. Presently she is working towards her Masters at Arizona State University. She attended the University of Illinois. Mrs. Dianne German teaches French 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6. She is the sponsor of the French Club. She received her B.A. from the University of Arizona and graduated with general honors. Mrs. German is presently working toward her Masters of Art at the University of Arizona. She has taught at Wash- ington for two years. Dorothea 0. Benner teaches German and English. She is the sponsor of the German Club. Miss Benner attended Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa. and Cor- nell University, Ithaca, N.Y. and graduated with an A.B. and A.M. This is her sixth year at Wash- ington. Mrs. Josephine Grundy is presently teaching Spanish. She attended the University of Arizona. Mr. Fredick Woods is a graduate of Arizona State University. He is teaching Spanish at WHS. I. ACADEMICS 23

Knowled e umbers is Essential to Ever Da Life of No math class would be complete without student participation, especially blackboard work. Mr. Fleming is showing his class the correct way to make a graph. Mr. Robert Brodrick is the sponsor of the National Honor Society. He teaches Senior Math. This is his fourth year at WHS. Mr. Richard Fleming has been teaching school for seven years. This is his second year at WHS. He is presently teaching General Math and Algebra 1-2. Mr. Fleming graduated from North Dakota State University with a BS. in education. He is now working toward his M.A. at Arizona State Uni- versity. Mr. Barry L. Draper is presently teaching Geometry and General Math. This is his first year teaching before he was a student teacher at Central High School. He attended ASU and Phoenix college. Mr. Charles Johnston graduated from the University of Arizona and received his BS. and M.A. degrees. He enjoys a good game of golf. ACADEMICS 25
