Mrs Alberta Baker is presently teaching freshman English. She is sponsoring the annual school play. Mrs. Kathryn Mortensen graduated from Northern lllinois University. She is presently teaching senior English and Advanced junior English. I. Mr. Ronald Murphy is teaching senior English and U.S. Government. He is the sponsor of the senior class. 20 ACADEMICS Mr. Douglas Spencer is the sponsor of the junior class. He is presently teaching junior English. Mr. Dale Thornburg is a sponsor of the freshman class. He teaches freshman English. Besides this, he also does coaching during the football season.

MR. THOMAS A. PAGEL Mr. Pagel teaches Crafts and Physical Science at W.H.S. This is his second year here. Mr. Pagel graduated from Stout State College, Menomonie, Wis. He served as assistant J.V. football coach this year. MR. FRANK SALMON Mr. Salmon is head of the Art Dept. at W.H.S., and is sponsor of the Art Club. Mr. Salmon attended A.S.U., U. of Oregon, P.C., L.A. City College, and Bennington College. Mr. Salmon has traveled through many countries in Europe. Mr. Salmon introduces initiative thought to his art classes and encourages the use of creative imagination. Sometimes this is easier said than done. MR. FRANKLIN TAYLOR Mr. 'Taylor teaches Photography and Math at W.H.S. Mr. Taylor is sponsor of the Photo Club and is Photo Department Advisor for the Annual. Mr. Taylor attended Brigham Young University and A.S.U. He is presently working for an M.A. degree at A.S.U. Mr. Frank Taylor shows Bob Thema and Stuart Strong the finer arts of the enlarger and other equipment. ACADEMICS I9

DON ENGELBRECHT Mr. Engclbrccht teaches English 3-4 and T-8. He is the sponsor of the Hi-Y Club. Mr. Engelbrecht has attended Concordia College, New York, Valparaiso University, Indiana, YVashington State University, and Arizona State University. He holds a B.S. with honors, B.A. with High Distinction and an M.A. Mr. Engel- brccht is presently working toward his P.H.D. MR. RICHARD K. MORSE Mr. Morse teaches English 1-2 and 5-6.
