Dedicafim A carpenter must know how to measure boards, how to brace a wall, and how to lay a floor in order to build a good house. If he tries to build the house by the trial and error method, the house will not come out as well as he wishes. Through the knowledge gained by education from the mis- takes and successes of others he is able to build a good house the first time he tries. Education promotes progress and the modern methods of education make progress move rapidly. Throughout this yearbook we have tried to link progress with our own community as well as Washington High School. Progress is important to each student of Wfashington. We therefore dedicate the 1961-62 Panorama to progress through education in the hope that each student will do his part to further progress.

Hard work produces good meals and the cafeteria staff evidently is satisfied with the one just put out. Left to right: Elizabeth Christiansen, Mgr., Arlene Troyer, Elsa Blasucci, Bertha Sinanovic, Maude Hicks, Wilma Nelson, and Vir- ginia Tesmer. Lfafeferia H640 Aims to please The ladies of the cafeteria staff do their best to make lunches pleas- ant for the many students at Washington. They see that the diet is balanced and that the food is appetizing to the students. It is not easy to please so many students, who obviously all have different tastes. l .2 as Mrs. Christiansen Cafeteria Manager This sight of construction is the new wing being added for more classroom space. Similar construction is going on in back of the cafe- teria as it expands to meet the needs of a grow- ing student body. 2'I
