Personality is a peculiar thing. It is constantly changing, and yet it is basically the same. Personality determines the actions of each day and every individual. Just as the world changes with the seasons of nature, our personalities pass through four main stages: childhood, adoles- cence, adulthood, and old age. Our high school years can also be compared to the seasons of nature and of life. Freshmen are the spring. They are uncertain as to what the strange world of high school holds for them. They act childish at times, perhaps only to cover up their doubts. - W ,Q Q I While a little more sure in their way of thinking and acting, sophomores still Q XX. M y Q possess many of their freshman traits. They can be compared with the summer - E 2 older than a child, yet too young to be fully aware of the problems facing them , l as adults. I e Junior year usually finds more mature and steady individuals. During the autumn, 1 - many minds reach maturity in that definite plans for the future are made. Juniors Q Q L' are more settled and more aware of used-to-be strange new high school world. Q , V Finally on the ladder of the seasons, we approach winter. Here we find the i X seniors, seemingly calm and serene - far above the level of confusion. How- l 1 i ever, they are like winter - stately and mature on the outside, but, just as the coming spring lies in wait under the winter snows, so the seniors have an inner -,,,f15QQx, X anxiety that cannot be quenched until they hear the strains of the graduation Q' lr , 2 t march as they go, one by one, decked in caps and gowns, to receive a certificate NYS Yi - the reward for tgeig fogrlyegs of high school work.
