NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Juniors and Seniors who have outstanding qualities of leadership, character, scholar- ship, and service are eligible for membership in the National Honor Society, spon- sored by Miss Murphy. Students are first selected on the basis of their academic record and are then evaluated by the teachers on their other qualities. New members are now inducted at a dinner held for them and their parents instead of the former proce- dure of being called from the audience at an assembly held in the auditorium. Upon induction, the new members receive the highest academic honor that they can attain: becoming a member of a national society that honors those who serve their community. f, N.H.S.
