JOHN SOLMOS, Health, Physical Education, B.S., M.S., Kansas State University. STANLEY NEAL, Health, B.S., Ball State University. Chemistry as a physical science deals with the composition of matter and changes in that composition. Physics, another physical science, deals with matter and energy and their transformation. In Physics, students learn both old and new principles concerning basic truths of nature. Biology, the only biological science offered, deals with the origin of life, its early history, and its possible existence outside the earth. First year biology students taking a second year explore these principles further. Health is associated with the sciences in a limited way. It teaches the student the anatomy of the body with relationship to personal hygiene. The discussion of chronic illnesses, habits, and conditions which are detrimental to one's health are part of the class cur- riculum. Discussions range from smoking and drug addiction to safety in the home. 27 lf'- ' ROBERT MILLION, Health, B.A Ball State University. health

University, State Teachers College. Business Education is divided into two classes of goals of general objectives: vocational education and general education. The Busi- ness Department is concerned with the proper training in both areas. Vocational education equips the students with valuable skills, knowl- edges, and attitudes needed for employment and advancement in business occupations. Their courses are related, and extend through two or more years ofhigh school. General Business Education provides the students with information and basic skills which are needed by all in managing personal busi- ness. Any business course adds to the general information and is considered to be a general course if not continued for more than one year. Business education provides a way for all students to gain infor- mation relating to business. It prepares the students to enter and succeed in a business occupation as a beginner who expects to follow business as a career. It also develops an understanding and ap- preciation of our economic system. MADELYNNE LILLYBECK, Ojfce Training, Shorthand, Typing, B.S., Ot- tawa University. 29
