The study of mathematics is a stairway to learning in an intricate feld of numbers and geometric shapes. Each additional year ofstudy adds to the total knowledge and leads into the next year's study. Algebra prepares the students not only to accept math as a practical method of solving problems, but also as a complicated and necessary idea. The next step is Geometry, a class in reasoning as well as in mathematics. College or Intermediate Algebra is the third step on the mathematical staircase. Its subject matter is closely related to the study of Physics and therefore is a prerequisite for that course. The final step is Analytic Geometry-Calculus. This course provides an opportunity for the math student to acquire the useful habit of solving a problem by straightforward calculation. High School Math is a practical math course which aids the student in everyday uses of math. I L WILLIAM MOELLER, Algebra, High MARY TA YLOR. It is a result of man's thinking and imagination just as litera- ture is a result of his creative talents. In order to have a good education, students need an introduction to both areas. All science programs are divided into two branches.' the biological and the physical. Of the courses possible in science, our school ojers Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
