School's out, and look at the expressions on the faces of our students! I think they are the happiest we've seen them all day. But why shouldn't they be? This average day just happens to be a Friday, and there's a game tonight. The bus ride home is very similar to the ride to school, but because the bus is headed in the opposite direction, the over-all tone of the conversation is on the lighter side. Linda Van Paris decided to get a little of her homework out of the way be- fore going to the game, and we see her hard at work in the picture on the left. A telephone sure comes in handy when you aren't sure about the assignment. -11- k

Although the cafeteria serves many fine plate lunches, a hamburger, potato chips, and a malt can usually satisfy any student's appetite. So another nourishing meal goes by and back to class go the students. This class looks like a boys' study hall. All interest at the moment, though, doesn't seem to be centered on studying, but rather on a student who is evidently overcome by the activities of a busy school day. Wake up, Tom, it's almost 3:15. -10-

Many of Washington's students use their time out of school to earn extra money. Above, Jim Badowski, a senior, is whon working at a neighborhood store. Below, the stands are filled for the evening's basketball game. Enthusiasm is at a peak as the boys try to out-yell the girls and cheer the team on. -12-
