They are under the competent leadership of Mr. E. Asbury. The members are from the tenth to twelfth gradesg but, as in the orchestra, junior high school musicians of high quality re- hearse with the band three days a week during the noon hour. The organization has per- formed on various occasions-fcommunity affairs, a spring concert, and numerous sports events at school, The band fulfills its original purpose, which is to bring together the best band players in an organization which will delight its audiences with musical composi- tions of superior quality. This organization worked toward the purchase of new band uniforms. These were worn this spring, and the students of Washington High School eagerly looked forward to viewing their band arrayed in suitable outfits. The band music is considered a very popular entertainment. Everyone is usually thrilled at the pep and rhythm of a Sousa marchy and the most classical music, as it is performed by the concert band, is greatly appreciated too. ln this, as in all its musical organizations, Washington High School takes great pride.
