I IN A SCHOOL with an en- rollment as large as that of Washington High School, we are fortunate in having the ex- i ecutive positions in the hands of men and women who under- stand s t u d e n t relationships and know how to cope with them. The school city ot East Chi-. cago, made up of two high schools, Washington and Roosevelt, and a number of elementary and junior high schools, is copably supervised by Mr. Roy W. Feik. Financial policies and other business actions come under its jurisdiction. The board is composed of three members who are appointed by the city council for a term ot three years. A new member is appointed every year to succeed the one whose term expires. By retaining two experienced members, continuity of policy is established. The administrative force of Washington High School is headed by its principal, Mr. R, F. Robin- son. The preparation ot the program ot studies, reports pertaining to attendance and progress ot the students, and the ordering of supplies tor each ensuing year are a tew of the many responsibilities 10

Elliott, apart from his regular duties as assistant prin- cipal and dean of boys, serves as the head of the social committee composed of faculty members and is in charge of all varsity sports and home varsity athletic games. l-le has done much for the R. F. ROBINSON Principal amalgamation of interests among students and parents and the school. Miss Emma Bloomquist, dean of girls, serves as an adviser to and confidante of the girls of Washington High School. Looking after assembly pro- grams, the confirmation of afternoon excuses, and other duties are the responsibilities of Mr. H. E. Walley, assistant principal for the junior high division.
