Home Economics K. Gregory, L. Haugerud Foreign Languages ROW 1: M. Dills, H. Dunn ROW 2: S. Morgan. S. Trabasso A lot of colleges require students to take a foreign language. Washburn students are not short changed in this requirement. The Foreign Language Department offers French, German, and Spanish for students interested in these fields. The Home Economics Department teaches some rather useful electives. There are courses in cooking, sewing, and child care. The Home Economics Department can be found on second floor.

Music The Music Department handles such classes as Band, Choraliers, Madrigals, and the Marching Band. Industrial Arts Industrial Arts classes are always popular electives at Washburn. Students are given the opportunity to work with their hands and take pride in their workmanship. Various levels of electronics, metals, woods, and drafting are taught. C. Kirschbaum. D. Flugstad. R. Tauring Gym Health Americans are a health conscious group of people, and the Health and Gym Department helps students take care of themselves. Gym is required in ninth and tenth grade and offers students a chance to get out of the structured classroom during the day.
