As we walked down the aisle on that momentous night in June. memo- ries ot many events crowded intoiiiour minds: some were pleasant: some were sad. Recalling the road which we had travelled, we could almost see the footprints which had led us up to graduation. The footprints were of many sizes and shapes: they had been made by many ditterentfkinds of shoes, We remembered the shiny oxlords and graceful pumps which had been worn to our first formal: we remembered the comfortable loafers which had carried us through many months of school: we remembered. too. the spiked football shoes and the grimy tennis: had helped us to victory iriinumerous athletic contestsiialncl iwe also remembered the black and navy-blue shoes on the feet of every teacher. The graduation exercises were almost over. As we walked slowly down the steps to receive our diplomaijwe knew that the path behind us was packed and worn: we realizedg-that we must go on.
