National Honor Society. and also a reporter for the Grist. Mac Lindsay was editor ot Poplars, first page edi- tor ot the Grist. a member ot Senior Board, Spurs Hi-Y. Quill Club. Latin Club. and National Honor Society. C223 John Solum was the treasurer oi Cogs Hi-Y and a member oi National Honor Society. Quill Club. and Spanish Club. He served as one ot the Grist copy editors. was a past oiiicer of the Spanish Club. and played the ilute in both band and orchestra. Carolyne Campbell was the second page editor of the Grist. delegate to Girls' State. a member ot French Club. U.C. Club. Blue Tri. Girls' Glee Club. and National Honor Society. She also had the honor of winning the D.A,R. award, given to a student tor outstanding leadership. CLASS OFFICERS Charlie Edwards, president ofthe i953 senior class, is a boy of many talents. Among other things, he is known for his beautiful fenor voice, his out- standing tennis ability, and his excellent grades. We who have gone through school with Charlie are grateful for his leadership, service, and friendship. Steve Lieberman, commonly known as Lieb, is aur casual and el-ficient Veep. Steve was one of the spark plugs ot the class, being active in Grist, Foot- ball, Glee Club, Student Council, Politix Club, and many other things, Personality plus will always make us remember this great kid. Secretary Sharon Halron needs few introductions, for her enthusiasm and sparkling personality have made her known to all. A position as assistant editor of the Grist took up a good share of her time. but she also belonged to Politix Club, Latin Club. Girls' Chorus, and many other organizations. Likable Johnny Parsons has been a very capable and hard-working class treasurer this year, ln addi- tion to his penny-counting duties, Johnny found time to participate in several sports, among them. CREDIT BUREAU Consisting ot one representative trom each senior home room, the Credit Bureau handles the financial problems of the senior class. Johnny Parsons. class treasurer, heads the bureau under Miss Stevenson's guidance. The Credit Bureau prepares the budget subject to approval by the Senior Board and the senior class. They take into consideration the various expenses and expenditures, such as class play, class movies, senior banquet and Commencement. The bureau did an excellent job ot seeing that the money was handed in on time. The smaller home rooms made it easier to collect the money. SENIOR BOARD The Senior Board this year chose as their Presi- dent the boy who also governs the entire Senior Class, Charlie Edwards. The Board consisted of an elected representative from each home room and the tour class officers. Their sole purpose was to investigate and then ad- vise the Senior Class on problems concerning gradu- ation. Each member of the Board is responsible tor a special committee which helps in planning the en- tertainment ter their tinal year. The various duties ot the Board were tultilled etli- ciently and capably this year. as usual. r One: Eimburg, Edwards, Halran. Row Two: Bailey, Rugby, Balch, Bzrgh, Leonard, Galdius. Raw Three: Magck, Lieberman, Lee, Lindsay.
