materials and methods of painting. lt gives him a hobby and a means of service to the school and the various clubs. This year one class gave a program on television. Last, but not least, the classes try to find potential talent. Some of the most talented are award- ed scholarships. Music, like art is one way for students to express themselves. The annual Christmas Chorus and Spring Sing have become a tradition. Students who enjoy playing musical instruments may play in the band or orchestra. Students are given an understanding of the scien- tihc age in which we live through studying biology, botany, physics, and chemistry so they can enjoy life free from superstition. Three boys took the Westing- house Scholarship exam. Richard Stallard Won the Bausch-Lomb medal. The botany department raises plants in the spring. The atomic model display fea- turing the triangle was one of the high points of the season in chemistry. Physical education is required in all three years. ln the eleventh and twelfth grades, girls have an oppor- tunity to join tumbling or folk dancing classes. It is very important to learn how people live and what they do in order to understand World problems. Through history and modern problems students gain an understanding of economies so they may run the nation intelligently in the future. The modern prob- lem classes sponsor job conferences in order that seniors may sensibly choose a future vocation. ART and MUSIC: Super, Oberg, 'l'i'owbridge, Bolewine. SCIENCIC: Roder. Pulyer, Lowry.
