Sludenls learn how lo op- era+e lhe swilchboard and adding machine, lhey sorl mail, lhey call homes of absenlees and cul slencils. They work during 'rheir slud periods and in lhis way gain valuable prac- 'rical experience in lheir knowledge of shorlhand and lyping. The Office Board is under lhe direclion of 'rhe clerks, Miss Lund, Miss Pearson, and Miss Zollars. They keep lhe olifice running wilh efficiency. The library is open lo all Washburn sludenls from eighl' unlil 'rhree-'rhirly every school day. The Library Board consisls of selecled members who check books in and oul, 'file cards, collecl' fines, and relurn books lo shelves in lheir correcl order. A lhorough knowledge of various infor- malion is also essenlial. These girls give up 'lheir sludy periods lo help in 'rhe library. The group elec+s ils own olificers and is under 'rhe super- vision of Miss Margarel E. Brown. This club acls as a bond belween 'lhose who are inleresled in commer- cial work and helps lo widen lheir business informalion. Any one in I IA who is laking commercial courses and has mainlained a C average is eligible. Varied programs make up lhe semes+er's programs. 27
