Excusitplease! Helpfulady 12 We amp, Responsible for the efficiency of the office are Miss Helen Lund, chief clerk, Miss Evelyn johnson, Miss June Borreson, and Miss Kay Johnson. In addition to the im- portant work of making out students' programs, the office force takes charge of financial records, book sales, requisitions for supplies and equipment, and checks all attendance and scholarship records. Borreson Lund K. Johnson E. Johnson Miss Neel is the social worker of our school. As visiting teacher, she investigates the home of any pupil having dif- ficulty in his studies to learn if there is any irregularity in the family situation. The financial condition of the pupil's family is studied by Miss Neel. She also has charge of those boys and girls who receive government help. If any student becomes involved in a legal matter, Miss Neel ap- pears with him in court to help straighten things out.

UWM U f , The counselors, Mr. J. C. Wells and Miss Mabel Christensen help the principal in adapting educational processes of learn ing to the needs of the students, both as individuals and as groups. Mr. Wells, the boys' adviser, and Miss Christensen the adviser for the girls, assist senior students in planning pro grams that will meet the requirements for a certain college or vocational choice. Furthermore these sympathetic advisers aid many students in solving perplexing personal problems of school adjustment. Under the expert supervision of Mr. Beckstrom and Mr. Super, chorus is a valuable part of school life. Students are taught to appreciate music and recognize well-known pieces. Gym, taught by Miss Bowen, Miss Thurston, Mr. Ross, and Mr. Larsen, provides a refreshing and relaxing respite in the school routine. Classes in sports, dancing, and tum- bling are offered to the students. ln addition to providing an abundance of research material, the library offers a quiet recluse for study. Miss Brown and Miss Mossberg, who head the library staff, are aided by a number of students who have served an apprenticeship of one semester. These selected students are well versed in the running of the library. 13
