 We've come a LONG WAY FBLA!” The Washburn High School FBLA broke its record this year at the Regional Conference in Superior. We placed in 11 events this year, com- pared to 5 last year. The chapter sold candy bars all year and also made money selling from a gift items catalog, raffles, bake sale, etc. For our service project we helped out at our local Halloween Party. Coached by Mrs. Sharon St. Germain and Mr. Dale Foulke, the members of the team gained self-confidence and self-determination. Each of the students that partici- pated, showed great interest and enthusiasm! Five members of the team won a first place rating at State competition in Madison, Wl this year. They were: Gary Ledin — Storytelling, Jean Larson — 4-Minute Speech, Brigit Otis — Sto- rytelling, Dori Gasperini — Demonstra- tive, and Chris Korseberg — Poetry. Next year we hope to have a more exciting year with the increase of inter- est by the students at Washburn High School.
