Just at the moment the door opened and in walked Toby Hoffhines. She told them that she is now the Home Ec teacher at Washburn High School and the students are still winning the Cherry Pie” baking contest. The last she heard from Nonnie Vienneau was that she had joined the WAC to be with her husband. Dick, interrupting, remembered that Jon Utpadel is the chief of the Highway Patrol and his wife, Joanne Embertson is a guard in a woman's prison. Their three children are little angels. Tohy broke in then to say that she received a letter from Caroline Bissell not long ago. She and her husband Jerry are enjoying life in Germany very much. She also heard that Mary Jane Mesner and her husband are living in Superior and have seven children. Suddenly a ski-car shot past the window and, as Fran glanced out, three teen-age boys walked past. All were wearing flat-top haircuts, much to Fran's surprise. Yes,” explained Dick, Tom Schindler has a thriving little barber shop next door where he specializes in cutting the type of hair-do that he himself wore when in high school. The kids are crazy about it. And speaking of hair-dos, Howard Anderson grew some pretty long sideburns and learned to play the guitar. Now he's on his way to becoming another Elvis Presley. His old pal, Bill Amtsen, is his manager. Just then the door opened and Warren Wicklund stepped in, dressed very sharp. His taking over his father's lumber business has proved worthwhile for he is apparently mak- ing millions. Warren joined the conversation and told them he had just gotten out of the hospital. A tree had fallen on him some months ago but his long stay in the hospital was made pleasant by the fact that Nancy Garland, head nurse for three years, gave him the very best of care with extra privileges on the side. By this time it was getting late and as the people slowly cleared out, the small group of 1957 graduates lingered a while longer, then left with the knowledge that they would thoroughly enjoy the banquet in Fran's honor the next day.

Setia ‘P'lafeAeccf Excitement and anxiety fill the thickly-populated town of Washburn. It's been some twenty years since such an exciting event occured in this town, not since the graduation of the senior high school students back in 1957. Now, to add the finishing touch, a distinguished member of that class is visiting her old home town for a small reunion. It is the world-famous American-French star, Mademoiselle Frances Frechette! We found her strolling down the street, dressed in lavish furs and satins, with two white poodles from Bratley's Kennels in Chicago. She paused in front of a small door with a sign overhead, Dick’s Slop Shop and entered to find Dickie Tutor busily giving orders to waitresses and cooks. Yes, Dick has made a lot of changes in the old Hamburger Inn and is now the legal owner. At once he and Fran were bringing back memories and up-to-date news on all their school chums. Shall we listen in? Fran - And my dear boy, on my fourth trip to Paris last month, I finally got around to visit Sue Rodkewich and Pauline White. They are in partnership in The Woman's Touch shop there. Sue runs the perfume section and Pauline handles the hair-styling and dress fashions. They're making millionsJ Dick - I suppose you know that David Hanson is a candidate for the Presidency. His most ardent supporter is Senator Richard Brown. In the field of sports, Jim Benedict has become the world's champion heavy-weight wrestler and Pat Sheridan is coaching the United States basketball team for the Olympics. Fran - Wonderful! Wonderful! She was suddenly interrupted by a loud blast from the juke-box and the teenagers went wild as they heard the American hillbilly gal, Barbara King, singing the nation's top tune, Liver Lips, accompanied by Jon Haugen and his Rock n Roll Rollers. Suddenly Fran spied the Carbon's Gazette on the counter. The glaring headlines read, Professor John Lukasiewicz launched a rocket to Mars. It continued with the story that he is now going steady with a little Martian girl with the most beautiful green hair. On the next page was an item announcing the engagement of Irene Guski. She finally became head of the Lonely Hearts Club in Africa and is wed to a fine-looking chief. The report went on to say that Irene encountered an old classmate, Florence Porter, while on a safari. Florence is a professional guide for wild game hunting. The next column told of Eileen Truchon, distinguished delegate to the U. N., and how she saved the world from plunging into a third world war some months ago. Then, skimming through more pages, Fran found an item on Doctor Newhouse and his miraculous and famous treatment for athlete's foot.
