The many tourists and their influence appears to have blotted out many of the old customs and traditions of the Hawaiian people. One must look far to find the original version of the hulu dance for instance. Also one does not see as many Ha- waiian people as he would expect. However, the islands of the Hawaiian group still possess the famous tropical and exotic air, which for centuries has made them a tourist's paradise. The islands of Hawaii provide the world with virtually all its pine-apple, and the Western hemisphere with most of its sugar and coconutsl Pineapples are raised with extreme care and the production of this Hawaiian Gold has become a major business of our 50th state. gf
