One Indian summer day in 1951, a new freshman tribe was enrolled in the W,C.H, S, Nation, We were husky Warriors, lots of brains and bronze! ? The peace council had never seen nobler squaws and braves. The new tribe was welcomed the first day at the Pow-Wow by Chief- Medicine-Man Wellman, and became official members after the proper tribal ceremony performed by the senior chiefs. Our entire band was painted with war point and submerged in the sacred waters of the canal! After these ceremonies the tribe was given the official name of papooses and allowed to select our chief. . . Papoose Roy Eckerdt. Miss Beyda, Mr. McDonald, and Mr. Ralston served as our peace councelors for many moons With our colossal float we helped our braves win the pigskin victory over Evanston. To the call of the wind, and the sweet smell of the flowers, we disbanded for the summer. Just as quick as we began enjoying our picnics and fishing trips, smoke signals were sent out that school had begun again. From all parts of the country, our tribe returned to the Nation with the rank of sophomores. We chose as our leader in 52 , Brave Buddy Crosby and Jerry Smothermon. As usual the spring weather makes a young brave's fancy turn to-- HOOKY! On returning, however, they were met by Chief-Medicine -Man Wellman, who by extracting a written copy of the Declaration of Indepen- dence from all the victims, drove away the evil spirits which had brought this about. That was the year that our tribe continued the custom of setting aside a week during which the squaws escorted the braves. They called this Tollo Week. The following year the tribe obtained the title of juniors, a position of power and esteem. Big Chief Geronimo Cook was chosen as our leader. In token of being members of W,C. H, S. tribe Indian Nation we selected our class rings. As a climax to our all ready shiny reputation, we held a feast en- titled, Moonlight and Roses in honor of the senior chiefs and afterwards a war-dance called My Blue Heaven , Much wampum was spent! It was a big event when our tribe stepped in to fill the place of the departed Senior who had journeyed to their Happy Hunting grounds. Again Big Chief Geronimo Cook was unanimously chosen to lead our tribe. This was a year of great activity: The honor of complying the annual and paper was given to our worthy tribe. You Can't Take It With You, the senior play, was a heap big success, wlin presenteddi February, In April the members of our tribe were treated to a banquet and a war-dance by the warrior juniors. Sneak day a very happy occasion because the chief seniors overjoyed took a vacation, leaving the rest of the school still struggling with their studies. After we had taken advantage of all the many opportunities offered by the W,C,H, S, Nation, our tribe now folds up their wigwams and moves on to the Happy Hunting Grounds. 29

Jackie Pat- Bill- Jackie Bill- Pat- Jackie Pat- Bill - Pat- Bill- Jackie Pat- Bill- Jackie Pat- Bill- Jackie Pat- Bill- Jackie Pat- Bill- Jackie CLASS PROPHECY OF I955 Hi Pat! I haven't seen you in a long time. Well, I haven't been around, I've been traveling for the past ten years. My goodness, here comes Bill. Hi, this is a pleasant surprise. Let's go to the Blue Flamingo and get something to eat. We'd love to. It doesn't seem possible that it's been 15 years since we graduated. Why there's Colleen Harkins really going to town singing Blues in the Night. Just look at all those men swoon! Have you kept in touch with many of the kids that were in our class ? Why yes, you remember Alice Porter, don't you? Well she owns the Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me lipstick manufacturing company and James Hillberry is the chief lipstick taster and judge. I was listening to the radio the other day and heard To be or not to be. I just knew it was Tom Howard. The critics simply raved when he played the lead in Hamlet. He must have raised that ham on the farm. When I was in Norway, I saw the Olympics. I was flabbergasted to see Helen Carlson representing the United States as the Pogo Stick Champion. As I was getting off the boat, I saw Alfred Griffin. He is taking Goose Tatum's place on the Globe Trotters. Wait till you hear what I saw. As I was driving in the country, I saw someone picking flowers in his petunia patch. I just about ran into a telephone pole when I saw it was Howard Cook! He always was a petunia smeller! While on the boat I saw a good old Wyoming T, V, program. Oh, you meanWillie Weber's Wild West Show. I saw it, too. When Laurie Weber came bucking out of Shoot No. 9, I could see why he's call the Broomstick Buckaroo! I about flipped when Myrna Sisco came out on a galloping horse doing the Charleston in the saddle. There were thousands of people there. Donnie Schaff made millions with his Horse and Buggy Taxi Service. Hold on to your hats. Donna Palmer just moved into our neighbor- hood, the poor dear. She is always scrubbing floors and her kids just muddy them up again. She always was the typical housewife. When I visited Washington, I saw the distinguished-looking president, John Edison Wyman. Did you know he has just added a new balcony onto the White House ? I also saw Artie Adams, the Governor from New York. As we went touring the grounds we saw a janitress, either washing windows or filling water balloons, You can imagine my surprise when I saw that it was Sheila Fredricksl On T. V. the other night, I saw' Sonya Read playing a new 35 foot piano. Her music is simply out of this world! And did you know that James Fare has been pirouetting in Pavlova's Dancing School for Prima Donnas ? His toenails no longer scratch the floor. Jimmy Toler is now the President of the Stretchy-Wetchy Girdle Company. His best model, Joan Watson, has been modeling his 30
