Parked along Wasco's main street in 1911 were horses, buggies and early versions of the automobile igfyfiif if? we Jejfyf QV, Q tg? They toiled and they wept: some cursed and some bent their heads in prayer. Together man and woman by the sweat ot' their brows made homes - with logs. with labor, with love. And in those humble homes they taught their children endurance and reverence. womanhood and manhood: a girl was taught to be a woman. a boy to be a man. Qgfgs VL?2?V?fzsff And though those pioneers continually struggled against the adversity ot the land. the eternal rainbow ot human emotions remained. In their homes upon this desert land. the pioneers - man. woman. child - laughed and cried, loved and hated. prayed and cursed. braved and feared. With thanktul hearts in the midst ot wilderness. they added a one-room school. From these meager beginnings-from these pioneers. guided by an untading star, sheltered by an eternal rainbow- a community. a school evolved.
