THE WASCONIAN :: 1942 lBGYS' CLUB - The membership ot the boys' W Club is made up ot A class athletes who have made the varsity squad in tootball, basketball, track, or tennis. ln addition to the awarding ot letters, Ed Carriker was given the All American blanket in tootball, Ray Packard was chosen as honorary captain ot the football team, and Loy Dale Wright was given a trophy tor outstanding performance tor his IO?-yard-two-toot run in the game with the Driller Reserves. Bill Baker was also chosen as the outstanding player in A basketball. Besides this, the club awarded three belt buckles to the high point men ot A , B , and Q classes in the inter- class track meet. At the end ot the football season, the tootball letter men were the guests ot the Exchange Club at Weit's l lotel, where they were served a chicken dinner. During the year. the letter club bought a S25 defense bond, the tirst club in the school to do so, and donated S5 to the Red Cross.
