It made its initial appearance singing between the acts of the Operetta, The G Gift , given on March 13. The girls have also sung in assembly. SPCRTS One of the most daring exploits in the early history of Vfheeling was that performed by Major Samuel Mccolloch. ln an effort to bring relief from Short Creek to the be- sieged at Fort Henry, McColloch was in some way cut oil' from the main body of his party. lndians were between him and the fort. As retreat back to Short Creek was made impossible by another band of Indians, McColloch took the only way out.
