THE CAST :Xdam's Evening , a farce in three acts, was presented by this year's Senior Class. Fhe play was very successful, under the direction of Mrs. Niarchant, with Norman Baker as Adam, the main character. The play was produced with .in equal amount of fun and work, and the Seniors hope that all future classes enjoy presenting their play as much as they did. WHOOPSF MY NAME'S COKES! YO-HO-HO! Q5

K OXC' .I 0714 Nlfxgfvox 'V' 0 8,0 Ofef idk C ASS HISTCRY It all began in September of 1941 The class of 1954 entered kindergarten with Miss Meyer as our teacher We worked so hard coloring pictures and playing in our rhythm band that when it came time to draw out our rugs and take a nap, we were completely exhausted We entered lst grade with Miss Hammond as our teacher The most memorable event was the time Marion Nairn fell and broke her nose in an exciting game of initial 18g Second grade, with Miss Petty as our teacher, seems to stand out in most of our minds This was the year Miss Petty locked Maureen Holahan in the teacher s room for being naughty, and Miss Canty came in and asked her what right she had in the teacher s room Was it any wonder our little minds became confused? In third grade, under the guidance of Miss Stafford, we first wrote with ink This was a big occasion and my, how much older we thought ourselves than those lowly second graders, who were still using pencils Kay Tray nor and Marion Nairn were the envy of all this year, for they possessed the only two movable seats in the room with desk tops that opened We entered 4th grade with much anxiety over being able to use the side door and a new part of the build ing A tap with Miss Donlon s nxler was the punishment for nusbehavior, as Nancy Toland and Anita Sted man found out one day when they couldn't control their laughter over a character named Pimwee in our geography books We entered Sth grade with Mrs Gardner as our teacher and a few new classmates, among whom were Carol Hazlett, joy ce Harvey, and the Mulder twins We made flour and water maps this year We also learned how to vote and heed a class vote, the results of which proved that the mayonty of fifth graders were republx cans Shirley Norton was the envy of all the girls tlus year when she received a box of candy on Valen txne s day lsn t love grand' In 6th grade, under the guidance of Miss Affleck, we prepared for yumor high school This was the year Arthur Broadbooks became editor of the great Court Street Gazette with Sally Litteer as business man- ager This was sold for two cents a copy and Marion Nairn, Nancy Toland, and Maureen Holahan were among the honored few who sometimes received a free copy from the editor himself Seventh Grade found us pretty well mixed up most of the time because of changing classes, something unheard in the lower grades Mrs james left us in january, and Mrs Hall took us the rest of the year Under Mrs VanOrder in eighth grade, we really became active We put on a play for Christmas, and we edited our ,own paper, which we certainly thought could beat anything the high school put could out Marion Nairn was editor, and several editions were published - In our first year in high school we really felt that we were grown up That was the year we studied his- tory' with Mr Goelz and his tempermental radiator, and also Math with Mr Rising and his Damon Runyan stories With john B as president, we began to function as a class in our second year of high school Carol Haz- lett reioined us that year, and Peter Wychoff left for South America As juniors, we began to realize that our schooling was nearly over Marilynn Martin was ourpresident, and we began discussing the possibility of a Senior trip We finally' voted for Washington as the place we should like to go Audrey G became interested in the idea of going to the Herald Tribune Fonxm in New York City, and after turning a one day forum into a week s vacation, a group of us went, all returning tired but happy Nancy T especially, with her genuine Chinese hat from Chinatown with a stamp on it made in Japan Our junior Prom, Blue Moon , was a success, and we did make some profit As Seniors, we have really' worked as a team With George Hively' as president, we began our money raising projects in September with the annual magazine sale, and we did pretty well, though it resulted in two crazy-mixed-up boys This gave us a good stan with what we already' had and starting in October we agreed to have baked food sales every week We worked hard on the Senior Circus and the Senior Play, but we felt they were well worth the effort As our final year ended, we took with us the memory of the Ball and commencement lt has been a memorable thirteen y-ears for all of us, and we face the future with eager- ness and conidence l- 24
