BLFTST Tl-TE BAND AND ORCHESTRA The band has progressed very rapidly This year. This is probably due To The leadership of Mr. Magee more Than anyThing else. Mr. Magee has encouraged The members of The band and shown Them ThaT They could do very well if They worlc. Regular pracTice periods have been seT aside. The acTiviTies oT The band have been numerous. The Tull band played aT several home TooTball games. During baslmeTball season a smaller group was Tormed To play aT The basl:eTbalI games. Space did noT allow The Tull band To play aT The baslxeTball games. The band played before The ParenT- Teachers' AssociaTion several Times during The year. A concerT was held on February IB, ioinTly wiTh The orchesTra. People Turned ouT very well To hear This concerT. The band and orchesTra did well and as a resulT anoTher concerT will be held in May. The proceeds oT The TirsT concerT were Turned in To help pay Tor The Glee Club gowns. The orchesTra This year hasn'T been very acTive. lT played Tor The Senior Play. A picked group of The erchesfra wenT To RochesTer in The Tall along wiTh picked groups oT many oTher orchesTras Trom The disTricT To play aT The Teachers' ConvenTion as a massed orchesTra. This impressive group Tilled The sTage of one oT RochesTer's largesT TheaTers. One of The more recenT addiTions To The insTrumenTal group is The German Band. This liTTle group has played beTore The assembly on Friday mornings and has been acclaimed by The enTire sTudenT body. 28
