L L Z 1977 MIRRQR Dedication Mrs. Alisca Czarnowski was born in Lincoln, Massachusetts and attended Waltham High School as a commuter from Lincoln. During her student years at the high school, she participated in girls' bas- ketball, averaging 40 points per game, and was voted the best woman athlete in 50 years. After graduating from high school, she continued her studies at Boston University. Her education did not stop there, however. She is still taking courses now at North- eastern University in pursuit of her Master's Degree. For 9 years, Mrs. Czarnowski taught English at the high school. She then was appointed to a high administrative position as house- master. Her hours often extend from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the service of our class. Aside from her official duties, she has been involved in several drama productions assisting with choreog- raphy, costuming, and other vital tasks. Kahlil Gibran, the author of THE PROPHET, states, It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. We feel that this state- ment epitomizes the multi-dimensioned role Mrs. Czarnowski plays as teacher, counselor, administrator, and friend. It is with both great pride and honor that we dedicate the 1977 MIRROR to her. 2

His previous coaching background in this sport was impressive: while in college he had coached at the Waltham Boys' Club for five years, 1961-1965. During this time, his team fMac's Farmersy won the championship for three consecutive years and qualified for the finals every year. He is still an avid basketball fan who holds season tickets to the Celtics' games. ln addition to working parttime as a pharmacist and being a loving husband, and the devoted father of two children. this man is currently involved in a myriad of activities at Waltham High. He is an excellent math teacher, very dedicated and always willing to help his students. More- over, he has run trips for students to Bermuda and Europe for the past five years and also originated a trip to Montreal which has been an annual event for the past three years. Furthermore, he has been the yearbook advisor at Waltham High for four years, dedicating his free periods, nights, parts of his summer. and even weelzencls to this task. As a token of our deep gratitude and appreci- ation for all the time and effort that this man has given we are proud to dedicate the 1977 Mir- rot to him.
