THE MIRROR 9 MW f J --2-f-'rx X 3 TO THE SENIORS QD E stand as a diver stands on the end of a spring board, in a dry bathing suit, after he has been told that the water is cold. We stand in the warm sunlight, on something solid of which we are sure, and are surrounded by all the things we have become accustomed to in the last twelve years. We are standing ready to plunge out of this sheltered existence we have led into the sea of life of which we know little and which we have been told is cold. Many of us would hesitate, we would, if we could, linger on the board's end. Now, however, it is our turn to dive and others are waiting: when graduation pushes us, let us leap high and dive deep into the sea of life. Let us hope that it will produce in us the same actions as cold water does, after the first thrilling shock, let us hope that it will awaken in us a desire- to struggle upward from the cold, dark depths of this strange sea, toward the light, toward the top, with every ounce of energy we possess, until we swim on the calm, sunlit surface of the sea of life. , I TO THE JUNIORS Juniors, we leave, Carry on. Be senior-like Seniors. Be dignified, helpful, and kind, studious, if possible, and useful too. Above all, be business-like and let no one tread on your toes. Tolerate the Sophomores for they will be high-hat Juniors, as you were once and we were too, so bear up under them with the best grace possible: they are not really bad at all, you know. Take good care of the in-coming Sophomoresg they need your help so -boost them along. We leave to you our exalted place. Juniors, carry on!
