The golf team, in their first year under coach Bob Holderle, has had an exceptional year. The team finished with a City League record of 9-0, an overall record of 11-3, and the City Championship. First man, Steve Maynard, on top of a fine showing, placed in the top four at the Buckeye Insurance Tournament and won the j.C. Tournament held at Stoney Creek. Also representing Walnut Ridge on the green during the season were second man Bob Cole, third man Dan Drevvry, fourth man Doug Kunselman, and fifth man lim Gallagher. Varsity Tennis finished their season with a record of 9-7, and a third position in the City League. Led by Co-Captains jeff Harroff and Berry Becker, the Scots did the unusual by winning five matches 5-0. The team beat Brookhaven for the first time in Ridge tennis history.
