A hustling, hard working starting five and strong bench led to an amazing season record of nineteen and four fall four losses on away floorsj. The climax of the season came with the Scots' well earned, last second victory over first seeded South. Greg Fleming's fifteen well de- served points and Tim Capehart's last second shot as well as unbelievable playing by the entire team cinched the District title for the Scots. Vollman, B. Bardelang, F. Less, B. McKee. The 1971 -'72 Reserve Basketball team, coached by Dave Feyh, won the first championship for Walnut Ridge in any Reserve sport. Averaging 51.8 points a game, the Scots held the City League title with eleven wins, one loss, while having an overall record of fifteen wins, two losses. Holding their opponents to 46.4 points a game, the all sophomore team showed excellent defensive as well as offensive ability. The highlight of the season was the overtime win over Mohawk, 51-48, thus breaking the tie for first place in the City League. seventy-six
