Nobody dunnite Walnut Hills has aiways made it easy for seniors by providing dozens of easy-tovwear traditions. This yearrs senior ctass fit neatly into the pattern and avoided all unnecessary aggravation. Mast seniors managed to survive national testing. college applications, and their last semester without being arrested, suspended or overinvolved. If anything goes wrong, it's not my fault, quoth the class president. Nothing much did go wrong, because nothing much was done. Frustratedllazy would-be revolutionaries showed their rebellion only by their hair, clothes, and dope. 0h welt, maybe next year. Fraternities and sororities took a last dying breath this year, as seniors realized the error of their ways. A rally, Prom, and then Commencement. And onward go the seniors, to those big Walnut Hillses in the East. street riots, or the placid waters of the Mekong Delta. 110 Senior Class Representatives: Linda Sroufe. His two years as Principal of Walnut Hills have been a time of more progressive change than any equai period in our school's history. His door tand his minim are always open to students tthough not always to former studentsi with something to say. For the first time students have felt that someone at the top is listening. Mr. Brokamp attended the University of Cincinnati. receiving his Bacheior of Science degree in 1952 and his Master of Educa- tion three years later. He taught Mathematics at old Woodward and Taft High Schools. and served as sponsor of the Student Councils at both places. Following this he was head of the Ad- vanced Math Department at Western Hills. For one year he was Asst. Principal of Gambie Jr. High, and for five years held this same position at Walnut Hills. The next year he was traded to Lyons Jr. High to: two history teachers, a cook, and an undis- closed amount of cash. Two years iater he returned to Walnut Hills. this time as Head Coach and General Manager where he has just completed his secoud successful season. 182 Mr. Gene NuckoHs Mr. Jim Allender Assistant Principals Mr. MHt McCracken Mr. Carl Banks -v MWMM o :2 .W -? 22 29' .z: 4: 5m . It is offered in hopes that it will report, reflect, and above all, entertain. To those who may find the book irreverent or objectionable, we offer no excuses or apologies. Walnut Hills is not Utopia, and Pollyanna would have made a lousy yearbook editor. No editors can claim all credit for any yearbook. Many people, both on and off the staff, have contributed more than their time, and we thank them. First is Andy Schwartz, who we can't even begin to thankw he knows how we feel. Next is a corny one: thanks to Jim Brown. without whose help the book neue! would have been possible. He taught us a few things about photography, and we taught him a few things about . . e . There are more: Marlene. who kept Andy in. terested; Michael S. Goldstein, our spiritual adviser, wherever he may be; Mike Daffin, who served tirelessly as Bagel-O Editor; Elaine for eighty-seuen meals. and R. J. Reynolds tor seven thousand cigarettes. Other people who helped lbu-t may now deny in include: Mark Klatt, Leland Williams, the Cincinnati 200, the entire REM staff. and Shotzy the Elephant.
