Kumler. inel, Miss Lolle, Crosby Here at Wfalnut Hills we have always been proud of our speech department. The course is entirely optional. but many students enroll each year to learn the fundamentals of good speaking. Speech. dramatics. and debating are olllered. The purpose of all these classes is the development of the voice and the improvement of diction and expression. Nothing is a better teacher than practical experi- ence. ln keeping with this fact many productions are given by this department in addition to class- room work. Every year the outstanding achieve- ment ol' the speech department is the Shakespearian play. Other activities include assemblies, planned and executed by the students, Radio Guild broad- casts, and dramatic plays. The men and w s 'reat problems must be able to think clearly and logially to arrive at the correct decision. The leaders ol America rnust be able to present their ideas so that they are clearly understood. The youth in the class- rooms of today will be the leaders in the world ol' tomorrow. YVC students in lValnut Hills will be well equipped to accept this leadership.
