Your four years of high school ended on May 29, in a warm but dignified and impressive graduation ceremony. The parties, the gifts — the joy and the tears, are all in the past now, and a bright, challenging future lies ahead. What will that future bring? Thirty-four of fifty classmates are going on to college, seven to trade schools, three to the military, four are going immediately to the workforce, and three have yet to make a commitment. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will always be the class of 1987 — the class will never end! And whatever the future holds for you, we hope it brings you happiness and satisfaction. Best wishes always! Lawrence P. Eggleston Superintendent

Mike R., Brett, Mark H., and Anthony discuss congratulatory cards. The traditional “Pomp Circumstance” for the 1987 commencement was provided by the combined high school and grade school bands directed by Mr. Bolz. The Mixed Chorus, accompanied by Mandi VonHolten, sang “We Must Say Goodbye.” Special additions to the program were a duet by Sandi Nobles and Maureen Kennedy and a poem written and read by Paul Kepner. Rev. Howard Hoffman offered the invocation and benediction. School board president Merle VonHolten handed out the diplomas after Mr. Eggleston awarded honors and scholarships. The Junior Class ushers were Mandi VonHolten, Matt Gerdes, Pam Gothard, and Brian Sikkema. Baccalaureate services were held Sunday evening, May 24, in the high school auditorium. Beth and Kris open graduation cards as they await “Pomp and Circumstance. 21
