But they have left an aching void, The world can never fill —William Cowper In memory of Timothy Michael Swearingen, born February 20. 1967, died July 20, 1982. Class of 1986. In memory of the late former Superintendent Cecil Snider, who left in 1956, after many years as an educator here, we dedicated a flagpole. Pictured left to right are Superintendent Larry Eggleston, Board President Merle Von Holten, Mrs. Snider, Mr. Phil Hare representing Congressman Lane Evans, Representative Richard Mautino, and Fred Snider, son of Mr. and Mrs. Snider at the Walnut football game ceremony. We set aside this space in our yearbook in memory of Timothy Swearingen, a classmate; Cecil Snider, a former principal; and the seven NASA astronauts who died in the Challenger explosion. In memory of the seven astronauts: Ellison S. Onizuka, Christa McAuliffe, Gregory B. Jarvis, Judith A. Resnik, Michael J. Smith, Francis R. Scobee, and Ronald E. McNair, who died in the Space Shuttle explosion on January 28, 1986 at 10:39:13 A.M. 5
