CLASS PROPHECY Dear Bunni, I simply must tell you about my fascinating trip to Europe. While on the S. S. Statuer, named after its famous captain, Richard James. I met our long-time friends, Ellen Frank and June Hill. Ellen is secretary for the ship's captain, and June is the recreation chairman. Upon my arrival in London, I met Sharon Rum bold traveling with her husband. I stayed at the Hotel A-Go-Go, managed by Rod Christensen and Bill Larson. My personal bellboy was John Dietz. The Last Four, a combo there, consists of trumpeter Phil Blazier, drummer Mike Lubbs. guitar-player Bradd Von Molten, and singer Mary Cole. The next night Marty Goodale, the hotel’s Lonely Hearts’ Club president, escorted me to an International Playboy Club, managed by Ray Sabin and Tom Linden. David Thompson presented me with a Playboy Club key. By the way, one of the most famous Bunnies in the world is Roberta Parker. From there, I traveled to Paris where, at the Aeroport a France, I met my old shorthand competitors, Nancy Ihrig and Sharon Rollo. They are working for the president and vice-president of French Airlines, Joe Lange and Eric Renner. After leaving Paris, I stopped in Switzerland for a brief rest. At the airport in Zurich. I ran into Sandy Durham, an airport nurse. While bandaging a small boy's knee, she asked if I knew that Natalie Keigwin was in charge of putting the holes in the Swiss cheese in the Alps. Then I flew to Brazil, where I visited Larry Johnson's tobacco farm. While I was talking to Larry, Jim Broeren, a car dealer, drove up in a Cadillac. After selling Larry a couple of new cars, Jim invited me to Texas. I learned that Jim had been living in Houston for a long time, and that Scott Mergele is the owner of a string of oil wells. After spending a few days with Scott and his family, I traveled to Los Angeles where I saw the show Bobby Joe in 'Funnybone'. The star was another former schoolmate, Robert Levitt. I flew to Chicago and boarded a train, where I found Pat Whitver. Pat told me she has a psychiatrist's office in downtown Chicago. Carol Benson is now a nurse at Mercy Institution, an insane asylum at Midnight Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. Mary Ann Spears is now secretary to the President of the United States. Dan Livey. Can you believe that?? Sara Larson owns a kangaroo ranch in Sidney, Australia and is doing quite well. Another classmate who has become a movie star is Linda DeWaele. Her latest picture is What Happens After Three (or Life Begins at Three A. M. ) in technicolor, by M. G. M. Gary Erickson has the toughest job of all. He is warden of the Women's State Prison at Dwight, Illinois. He really meets some tough characters, but he likes his job. He has even had time to get married and raise a family. In Iowa, I met Tom Hanson, a professor of agriculture at the University of Iowa and Head Supervisor of the National 4-H Club. In New York City I met Eloise McKanna, owner of the Shar-May Beauty Shop. I traveled from here to Niagara Falls, where I found Stephanie Lawrence as head guide. Newlyweds come from all over the country for her famous nocturnal tour. Back in Illinois I learned that one of the new coaches at Western is Bill Lind, who married his high-school sweetheart and has four sons. Did you know that Chuck Jenner is making a career out of the Navy? Chuck is still single, but I met his fiancee. Guess what! ! The former Ellen Fordham is now a member of the Busy Members Club. She got married soon after graduation and is raising five wonderful children. Next I boarded a train for Mexico to hunt for Rita Meyer. I found that she is professor of art at Espanol College in Acapulco. Joe Gorman is now the ping-pong champ of the world. He and his old-time faculty advisor have won all the major tournaments. Sharon Schrock is now the gossip columnist for the nationally known newspaper, The Walnut Leader. I visited with her and met her fine husband and twelve children. Well, I guess you know that Linda Behrens is president of the Mothers and Homemakers Club. She is happily married and raising a fine family of seven. I suppose I really must get back to my books. By the way, have you read my newest, How to Be a Beautician Without Really Trying? I will send you a complimentary copy, but I don't suppose you will ever find time to read it. Teaching forty-five little monsters in kindergarten and raising ten of your own must keep you pretty busy!! So long for now-------------------- 27 Your friend, Carol
