Dear Vicki, I hear you're a medical assistant now at the Mayo Clinic. It's surprising how many of our classmates are up there. CAROLYN LUBBS and GINGER HENLINE are both working as Lab Technicians, and GENE WARFIELD, who is working in the research department, is becoming quite a prominent scientist. I thought you might like to know about some of our other classmates. I’ve seen several of them lately. KAREN HEITZLER is working for John Deere. SUE COOK, CHARLENE HANSEN, and BETTY ODELL are working as secretaries at a large firm in Chicago. JULIE DERSHAM, who is an interior decorator, just finished decorating two new beauty salons, one for LINDA BOROP and one for SHERRY ECKBERG. She has also redone JIM BA CORN'S photography studio; she's a busy girl, almost as busy as JANICE LARUSSA, who is an interpreter at the U.N. Oh, we've got two new barbers in town, FLOYD CLAPP and DAVE LAURITZEN. Their shop is right next to BERNARD HEADLEY’S butcher shop, and right down the street from JIM BUZARD'S Garage. LINDA GERDES and ANN LORENZEN are in New York now; they're secretaries for a large publishing firm, and GEORGIA FAY is working on business machines there. DARRY LAURITZEN and PAUL CUMMINGS have been working for Uncle Sam in the Marines. When I last saw DICK SASH, he was on a soapbox preaching liberalism- quite a politician, that boy. By the way, our high school has a whole new crop of teachers. ALAN YONK has taken over the math department. KAY McCARTER has been teaching art and English. JIM BANGTSON is doing well managing the school as the principal, and RON FRITZ is our new coach. DENNI HURST is teaching speech. In grade school we have one new teacher--PAT WANGELIN; she's teaching the second grade. It seems that most of our classmates are doing quite well. BURTON RAABE is the sales manager of a firm in Los Angeles; I think they sell Beatle wigs. JANET HUSSEY is out in California, too. She's making the movie. The Singing Psychiatrist. There are still quite a few kids left around Walnut. LARRY YERK, FRED MEISENHEIMER, LARRY LAURITZEN, and MIKE DIETZ have all become successful farmers--on their own farms. PEGGY WALLACE is running her own restaurant and doing quite well. She even has her own private hairdresser, CATHY WAGNER, and a secretary, MARIELLEN BROEREN. DANA POMEROY isn't too far from good old Walnut. She's a dental assistant in Princeton. That's about all of our classmates--a very successful group, I'd say. As you know. I’m working as a dental assistant to a very prominent dentist. I’ll see you at the next class reunion. Love, Pam 23
