BAND, BUSINESS and CARPENTRY CLUBS BUSINESS CLUB members helping out a few teachers with the The band, directed by Mr. Freeman, has a unique system of government. Curtis Hinck- ley, President, is aided by the Band Council, made up of Lynne Palmer, Kathy Suba, Rich- ard Slocum, and Robert Kerr. This year the band participated in the Christmas Concert, Homecoming Parade, Patriotic Concert and Bantasia. Four sophomores had the honor of being chosen for Region ll All State Band this year. The Business Club is one of the more prac- tical clubs in the school. Not only do they help teachers with paper work, but they also type letters from Santa Claus during the Christmas season. Officers of the club are: Anne Martin, President, Helen Schutz, V.P.y and Sherry Combs, Secretary. The Carpentry Club members were busy most of the year building props and scenery for stage productions.

AUTO BODY, AUTO MECHANICS and A.V.A. CLUBS I AUTO MECHANICS CLUB discusses repairs. AVA CLUB assists teachers in scheduling and running til The Auto Body Club is directed by Mr. Cheeseman with the assistance of Ed and Gary Fletcher. The boys in the club learn the procedures of repair- ing small dents and the different body shop tools. They also learn how to fix minor parts of a car, knowledge that they will be able to use at any time in their lives. The Auto Mechanics Club suc- ceeded in learning and working with the basic parts of the standard gaso- line engine. Many of these students will later become professional me- chanics. The AVA Club is one club on which our school depends. AVA officers for T969-T970 were: Student Instruction Advisor, Chuck Stratton, Student Dis- tribution Advisor, Dennis Wilson, Stu- dent Clerical Advisor, Phil Linke, and Student Maintenance Supervisor, Craig Hankins. As head of the AVA department, Mr. Beach advises the club. TIM DAY

DRAMA CLUB OFFlCERS: Mark Megill, Barbara Daniel and Lynn Donnelly. Th Drama Club's first production was BIP, con sisting of Mr. Bean, Impromptu, and Passionella. The Wizard of Oz, a special children's presenta tion was played before a Saturday morning au dience. A trip to New York to see Man of La Man cha and the spring musical, Carnival, ended a busy year under Mr. Brennan's direction. President Donald Fischer, Vice-President Philip Linke, Treasurer David Newman and Secretary Michael Chase presided over a Chess Club whose size almost doubled since last year. Advised by Mrs. Weiss, the club met after school in the li- brary to practice for various tournaments and competition. DRAMA CLUB and CHESS TEAM MRS.
