Cunningham, Sr- He is agraduate of Georgia School of Technology where he received his commisSi0I1 as Ensign in the Naval Reserve in June 1935. He transferred to the Regular Navy after World War II. Commander Cunningham's active Naval service extends back prior to World War II. Previous duties include Commanding Officer of U. S. S. YMS 1073 C0111 mending Officer ofthe U. s. s. FIDELITY QAM-965, later Pc 16003 Comm-Hndmg Officer U. S. S. TRIUMPH QAM-3233, Commanding Officer U. S. S. PEREGRINCE QAM-3733 Commander Service Squadron FIVE, U. s. Atlantic Fieetg ODGIHUOHS Officer, COMINLANTQ Executive Officer, U.s. s. NOBLE QAPA-2185: OPGT' ations Officer U. S. S. TOLEDO fCA-1332, Inspector Instructor Naval Reserve , Tampa, Florida, which duty he performed just prior to reporting aboard the WALDRON. He has been commanding officer of the U. S. S WALDRON Since 13 February 1952. Commander Cunningham is a veteran of the I':1eific 'Flit-zitni, having Part' icipated in Several invasions during the past war, including the recapture of the Philippine Islands.

Commander Fay E. Wilsie, Commanding Officer of the U. S. S. VIVALDRON QDD-6995, is the son of Mrs. Bertha Kumm Wilsie of Spring Valley, Minnesota and the late Giles Hall Wilsie. He attended the Spring Valley High School, Marion Military Institute, Marion, Alabama and the United States Naval Ac- ademy. Upon his commissioning as Ensign U. S. Navy, on 3 June, 1937, he was as- signed to U. S. S. COLORADO where he served for fourteen months. He then served aboard U. S. S. PHOENIX, U. S. S. BOSTON and U. S. S. LITTLE ROCK. He participated in many engagements in the Pacific Theatre during the war and received the Bronze Star for valor in combat. In the Spring of 1946 Commander Wilsie was ordered to the United States Naval Academy where he served as an instructor in the Marine Engineering department for four years. In July of 1950 he became Executive Officer of the U S S HECTOR QAR-91 During his fourteen months tour aboard the HECTOR was based in Japan repairing the ships damaged in the Korean conflict Com mander Wilsie next served on the staff of ComTraLant and then the staff of ComDesLant from which he was ordered to his present duty station He as sumed command of the U S S WALDRON on April 3 1954
