BASEBALL When the baseball season came around this year it was doubtful as to the prowess of the team, but with the returning lettermen and the first year men the prospects looked better. The returning letter-men ere Darwin Christ, Lloyd Hyde, Ron Ridenour, and a sophomore, Rodney Jensen. So far in the season, the Irish,with their new unifoms ,have played only one practice game in order to get our pitchers and team members used to the strain - we were defeated 16-7 by Newport. VOLLEYBALL The Colleens enjoyed a fairly successful season in volleyball this year- having won six of twelve games. There were eight girls returning from last yesr's team, they included Louise Tingley, Doris Harper, Joan Goodman, Dorothy Thissell, Pat lells, Betty Laudenbeok, Leola Ted:-ow, and Anna Lyons. New team members consisted of Agues Slonecker, Gertrude Schwanke, Janet Blackman, Alice Slonecker, and lands Diggs. Since there was only one senior, Alice Slonecker, on this yeer's squad the prospects for a successful tees next year are very promising. laldport 19 Toledo wuapon.
