HALLINAN HOUSEMASTER PRINCIPAL ' S MESSAGE To the Class of 1989 The calvacade of events which are taking place during your senior year are both exciting and prophetic in nature. A presidential election year is a time of a restatement of values, a time of reassess.T.ent , a time of looking ahead to the future, a time for you as an individual to lock ahead and begin to seek ouc your place in the world. The iiiipacL of international events reveal the shrinking nature of our world and force global concerns into our consciousness. The need for energy, the need for a safe atmosphere and environment, the need to assist third world nations, the need to work toward disarmament, the need to continue to investigate the nature of our physical world and the need to begin to view our world as one large family sharing the many concerns with uchers. You as a citizen must be aware oi your world, the forces that drive society, that enhance culture, and be aware of the political solutions and approaches to the many problems. This is not an easy task. The many forces and events swirling around you will, however, affect the conditions under which you will live. Be curious, ask for good answers, be kind to your fellow man and strive for self reliance. We at Wakefield High School wish you all a happy, challenging, secure and successful future! Raymond U.
