Rmtm A dy lets rty. Friends At WHS classes were important, as were sports and other activities. More important, however, were our friends. Classmates, team- mates, companions- we couldn't do without them. They were impor- tant for a lot of reasons. A friend was the one with whom you talked after class to get things off your chest. A friend congratulat- ed you when you got a good test grade, or encouraged you when you didn't . . . kept you informed about whatever you had missed in school . . . laughed with you and talked with you between classes . . . stood by you on the playing field or gym floor or track. A friend talked to you on the phone in the evening and told you the as- signment you had missed or forgot- ton . . . gave you a ride to school or back home . . . said Hi in the hallways . . . went with you to the movies or the football game or a party . . , didn't always agree with you but respected your opinion. A friend was there when you needed one. Thanks, friend. 7
