H2 Qgn Coach Luana Naauao gn Qfiiitii The 1974-1975 edition of the Waipahu High School Girls Volley- ball Team enjoyed another successful and winning season under the guidance of Coaches Rudy Sambrano and Luana Naauao. Due to excellent training and great teamwork, the girls played well with determination and confidence. The team was captained by Angie Andrade and Nadine Awana, and managed by Marie Patacsil. Outstanding performances by Julie, Angie, Audree, Mary Ann, Jeanette, Nadine, Belinda, Dawn and the fine reserves vaulted the Marauders into the OIA West Championship. C The 1975 Waipahu High School Boys Tennis Team had a tremendous head start with pre-season matches on the Big Island with Hilo, Honokaa, and Laupahoehoe High School teams. Sharpening their skills and gaining confidence, the boys were ready for the grueling OIA competition. Led by lettermeh Patrick Ryles, Russell Tsutsui, Craig Tamaki, Russell Yam- amoto, Jonathan Kanagawa, Lawrence Robles, Kerry Yamao, and Joseph Maka- naloa, the Waipahu netsters were tough to beat. Young prospects in the likes of Flor Abendanio, Alvin Dumlao, David Wentworth, and Carl Uyeno augmented and assured the team in the years to come. Coach Stephen Nakano, in his third year at the helm, had another strong team - tops in the OIA West.
