The school con- stitution was drafted the following year. From this infant beginning Waipahu has grown from an enrollment of 575 to its present status as rural Oahu's largest high school with approx- imately 1,500 students. The council, composed of homeroom repre- sentatives, provides a means for student expres- sion. The students coordinate the functions of the government by maintaining standing com- mittees.
