In the ship's last de- ployment, if it were not for R division, the mail bearing helo could not land Without the R division fire party standing by in case of an emergency. In addition R division contains some of the key men of the damage control organization., lt is responsible for the watertight integrity of the ship, all fire fighting equipment and Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Warfare protective equipment.
