The generators in the engine rooms provide the electricity for power, lighting, and the many motor generator set which furnish power to the guns and weap- ons systems aboard WAINWRIGHT. The Electrician Mates QE MJ stand watch on generators, motors, switch boards, and other electrical equipment. They test for casualty, and also repair and rebuild electrical equipment in the electric shop . The Interior Communications gang LIC5 stand IC and gyrocompass watches aboard ship, and repair IC systems, gyrocom- pass systems, amplified and sound powered Voice systems, alarm and warning systems, and related equipment. In the ship's last de- ployment, if it were not for R division, the mail bearing helo could not land Without the R division fire party standing by in case of an emergency. In addition R division contains some of the key men of the damage control organization., lt is responsible for the watertight integrity of the ship, all fire fighting equipment and Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Warfare protective equipment.
