A routine day in the heat of the fireroom will find the BT's keeping busy main- taining boiler pressure and temperature, cutting in or out additional burners, changing sprayer plates, repairing machinery, and keeping their spaces clean. In their job of converting water into supper heated steam, they may get dirty, but they are always more than willing to share it with others by cover- ing the topside decks with soot when blowing tubes .....
