And to be sure when it comes to weapons and WAINWRIGHT Weapons Department is all business!WAIN- WRIGHT is armed with the most modern weapons available in the fleet and it is the Weapons Department's responsibility to ensure that they are maintained in top notchfighting condition and operated effec- tively and safely. WAINWRIGHT is armed with medium range Terrier guided missiles, Asroc, two 3 !50 caliber rapid fire guns, one 5 !54 caliber 81111, and conventional Torpedoes. The Wea- A ,,,..mX my ttxil , pon's Department is responsible for these weapons themselves and also the ship's ANXSQS-26 BX sonar, 3-0 air search radar, and associated fire control systems. Be- sides this the Weapons Department is also responsible for the ships hull and deck gear, including boats replenishment stations and associated equipment. The Weapons Department is comprised of four Divisions, First Division with its Boatswains Mates, Second Division with its Gunnersmates and Fire Control Technicians, Third with its Sonar Technicians and Torpedoman's Mates, and the Fourth Division which is comprised of the Missile Gunners Mates and the Missile Fire Control Technicians.

First Division is responsible for the maintenance and the preservation of the ship's hull and the weather decks. In addition to this, the First Division sailors prepare the necessary rigging for underway replenishment S-tations , and care for and run WAINWRIGHT's small boats. When the ship is underway, First Division stands ship's control watches in the pilot house and has the sea detail station on the forecastle. I x',s ,I
