P MMCM BRUCE A. BRADWAY COMMAND MASTER CHIEF Master Chief Bradway joined the WAIN WRIGHT in April, com- ing from an assistant division officer post at SIMA Mayport. His new post was quite a change for the E-9 machinist mate, who was used to a fairly predictable job at MCPOC - MMCM Bradway talks to the Cheng on the messdecks. Master Chief worked to get Repair V ready for OPPE. THE LAW - Master Chief Bradway pas- ses the time of day on the signal bridge with EWC Bryan and SMC Gadow. V ! lf r ,,, r , .sss A iuillf -Q' ' x V 'f 3 lX'f? .f V SIMA. Now he was dealing with all the affairs of a ship getting ready to deploy, including department briefs, allotments and other matters. Master Chief Bradway also ran the ESWS program, and set himself a goal of at least one new surface war- fare qual a month, a goal which he met. Seven new sailors gained their quals: FCCS Latasiewics, FC3 Bel- cher, HT2 Walker, EWC Bryan, ET2 Fierro, MA1 Ferris, and EW1 Laws- on. .. T 4- ,-4 AT THE OFFICE - MMCM Bradway sifts his way through paperwork in his of- fice. He relieved MMCM Miller in April. COACH - MMCM Bradway goes over the latest main space fire drill with Repair V team members on the messdecks. 17

A 'Wfx. l'g,.p,,,f. I' LT. JEFFREY D. WAIN ADMIN OFFICER DCA LT Wain started off the cruise as the DCA. Then he moved to Ad- min after LTJ G Anderson came back from the leave he took in order to get married. However, he spent only three months in Admin when LTJG Anderson became ill, and he once again had to assume duties as DCA. As DCA, he worked to upgrade many DC systems, especially those found to be deficient by the PEB in- THE DREADED POAM - The DC POAM was LT Wain's working document for the OPPE re-exam in December. CALL ROTO-ROOTER - LT Wain re- spectors. He stayed on as DCA when LTJG Anderson was not able to re- turn, and he helped lead WAIN- WRIGHT to her successful OPPE in December. CWO2 Fischman as- sumed duties as the Admin officer. HE'S THE ADMIN OFFICER - LT Wain started the cruise as DCA, then moved to Nav!Admin, but ended as DCA. NO, HE'S THE DCA - LT Wain works at his desk. He took over DCA for the second time when LTJG Anderson was medeva- ced. 4.111 ff! ff THE FRED DISEASE - LT wain catches W M cites a message for the signalmen to send, requesting a drain auger. DESRON FOURTEEN STAFF During much of the cruise, Comdesron Fourteen, Commodore Yonkers, was embarked on WAIN- WRIGHT. The dozen or so officers and enlisted of his staff quickly be- came familiar sights around the ship, on liberty, and in their messes. The Desron staff, normally based out of Mayport, Fl., rode USS MacDonough throughout the initial months of the cruise, coming t0 WAINWRIGHT in late July, al- though Dr. Robbins rode .WAIN- WRIGHT from the beginning. As the battle group returned home, most of the staff flew off to ride USS Forrestal into Mayport- THE JOB ISN'T FINISHED . . . - . un- til the paperwork is done.
